Samode Palace, In Samode

Samode - 303806 Distt. JAIPUR, Jaipur

Originally built as a private residence of the Samode royal family, Samode Palace was converted into a boutique hotel in 1985 and is now one of India*s most romantic establishments. A progression of courtyards at different levels leads guests from public to private areas, and each courtyard holds its own charm. A perfect example of Rajput/Mughal architecture, this exquisite 150-year-old Palace features the most beautiful frescos and mirror work, which have been superbly restored to bring together elements of contemporary style, functionality and luxury with traditional rajasthani influence and design. Sitting like a jewel amidst the rugged Aravalli hills, this large and imposing Palace is located in the medieval village of Samode.

  • ) My only problem with the experience was guilt, because the village outside the hotel has no electric & spotty running water, so it made the economic disparities present as a tourist in India that much more acute View of a fort, fireworks, being treated like a Raj & Raja 2008-01-01 -

  • The intro is a bit touristy (marigold petals, red carpet, camels, a band, etc), but this was the most romantic place I have ever stayed. 2008-01-01 -
