Within stumbling distance is the up-and-coming Raval, an area that has undergone regeneration over recent years and is now home to arty bars, designers’ boutiques, art galleries and contemporary art museums – the CCCB and the MACBA, also famous for hosting the SONAR festival, as well as being an international skateboarding haunt. The BCN Market Inn is also very close to Poble Sec, one of Barcelona’s most traditional neighbourhoods at the foot of the Montjuic Hill, known for its beautiful squares and typical restaurants.
